Editorial Policy

How we create, review, and stand behind our content

Lumina Daily is committed to publishing biblical, accurate, and trustworthy content. This editorial policy explains who creates our content, how it is reviewed, the standards it is held to, and where artificial intelligence is used in our content pipeline.

Who Creates Our Content

All primary content on Lumina Daily — articles, Bible study guides, devotionals, character studies, topical pages, and feature content — is created or reviewed by the Lumina Daily Editorial Team. Our team includes:

  • Biblical scholars and seminary-trained writers
  • Experienced pastors and ministry workers
  • Christian educators and devotional authors
  • Experienced journalists and content specialists with Christian backgrounds

Every member of our editorial team is a professing Christian committed to the authority of Scripture and the foundational doctrines outlined in our Faith Statement. We do not publish content from anonymous authors or sources that cannot be verified.

Our Content Standards

All content published on Lumina Daily must meet the following standards:

Scripturally Grounded

All theological claims are grounded in specific Bible passages. We cite chapter and verse for every theological assertion. Where interpretive choices are made, we acknowledge that sincere Christians may hold different views.

Factually Accurate

Historical, archaeological, and biographical claims about Bible figures, events, and settings are researched against established sources. We do not publish speculative historical claims as fact.

Theologically Orthodox

We hold to the core doctrines of historic Christianity as articulated in the Apostles' Creed and Nicene Creed. Content that contradicts orthodox Christian theology is not published.

Pastorally Sensitive

We write with awareness that our readers are in many different seasons of life — including grief, crisis, doubt, and struggle. Our content is designed to encourage and equip, not condemn or shame.

Regularly Updated

Content is reviewed periodically for accuracy and relevance. Outdated information is updated or removed. We do not publish "evergreen" content and then forget about it.

Scripture References and Sources

Primary source material for all biblical content is the Bible itself, accessed in multiple translations (KJV, NIV, NLT, ESV, and others). Secondary sources used in the creation of Lumina Daily content include:

  • Strong's Concordance and Hebrew/Greek lexicons
  • Established Bible commentaries (Matthew Henry, John MacArthur, Warren Wiersbe, etc.)
  • Archaeological and historical references from peer-reviewed biblical scholarship
  • Theological dictionaries and systematic theology texts (Wayne Grudem, Millard Erickson, etc.)
  • Established Christian ministry resources (Focus on the Family, Desiring God, Got Questions, etc.)

We do not rely on a single tradition, commentator, or theological system as our exclusive source. We seek the broadest possible scholarly consensus on matters of biblical fact and context.

AI Disclosure

Lumina Daily uses artificial intelligence in the following areas of our content pipeline:

Daily Prayer Generation

Our daily prayer feature uses AI to generate a fresh morning prayer each day. These prayers are grounded in Scripture and reviewed by our editorial team for theological appropriateness before publication. AI-generated prayers are labeled accordingly.

Content Hub Articles

Some articles in our Content Hub are drafted with AI assistance and then reviewed, edited, and approved by a human member of the Lumina Daily editorial team. No AI-drafted content is published without human review.

Bible Study Questions

AI is used to generate reflection questions and study prompts for Bible chapters. These are reviewed for accuracy and pastoral sensitivity before being made available in the app.

AI is not used in the following areas: our Faith Statement, our Editorial Policy, our Privacy Policy, our Terms of Service, or any legal documents. These are written exclusively by human authors.

We are committed to transparent disclosure of AI involvement in our content. If you encounter content you believe contains errors or theological inaccuracies, please contact us so we can review and correct it promptly.

Corrections and Updates

We take accuracy seriously. If you identify a factual error, a scripture misquotation, or a theological misrepresentation in our content, please contact us with the specific article title, the nature of the error, and a suggested correction with supporting scripture or sources. We will investigate and correct verified errors within 5 business days and note the correction at the bottom of the affected article.
