Terms of Service

Lumina Daily is a faith-based spiritual growth application that provides daily Bible reading, prayer journaling, scripture search, community features, Bible study guides, and other Christian resources. The service is available via web browser and mobile applications (iOS and Android).

• You must be at least 13 years of age to use Lumina Daily. If you are under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent.
• You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information when creating an account.
• You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You agree to notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.
• We reserve the right to refuse service or terminate accounts at our discretion.

Lumina Daily is offered free of charge to all users. To support the ongoing operation of the service, we display advertisements through Google AdSense. By using the free tier of the app, you agree to the display of these advertisements.

Google AdSense may use cookies and tracking technologies to serve interest-based ads. You may opt out of personalized advertising at any time via Google Ad Settings. For more information, see our Privacy Policy.

We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third-party advertisers. Advertisements displayed in the app do not constitute an endorsement by Lumina Daily.

Certain features require a paid Premium subscription. By subscribing, you agree to the following:

• Subscription fees are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected).
• Payments are processed securely by our payment provider. We do not store your full payment details.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• Refunds: Subscription fees are non-refundable except as required by applicable law or at our sole discretion.

If you download or use Lumina Daily through the Apple App Store, the following additional terms apply:

• These Terms are between you and Lumina Daily only — not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content.
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for Lumina Daily.
• In the event of any product liability, consumer protection, or intellectual property claim relating to the app, Apple is not responsible.
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
• In-App Purchases: If applicable, in-app purchases are subject to Apple's payment terms. Refunds for purchases made through the App Store must be requested directly from Apple.
• Usage Rules: Your use of Lumina Daily must comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
• App Tracking Transparency: If the app requests permission to track your activity across other apps and websites, you may allow or deny this permission via the iOS system prompt. This is optional and does not affect your ability to use core app features.

You agree NOT to use Lumina Daily to:

• Post, share, or transmit content that is hateful, abusive, harassing, threatening, defamatory, or sexually explicit.
• Impersonate any person or entity, or falsely represent your affiliation with any person or entity.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the service, other user accounts, or our systems.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the app.
• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the app without written permission.
• Upload or transmit viruses, malware, or any other harmful code.
• Interfere with the integrity or performance of the service.

You retain full ownership of the personal content you create within the app, including journal entries, prayers, notes, and goals. This content is private to your account.

By submitting content to public community features (such as the public prayer wall or group messages), you grant Lumina Daily a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display that content within the app for the purpose of operating the community feature.

You represent that you own or have the rights to any content you submit, and that it does not violate any third-party rights or applicable law.

We reserve the right to remove any user-generated content that violates these Terms or our community standards, without notice.

All content, features, design, text, graphics, logos, and code within Lumina Daily — excluding user-generated content — are the intellectual property of Lumina Daily and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works of, publicly display, or commercially exploit any part of the service without our prior written permission.

Bible scripture quotations are used under license from their respective publishers (NIV, KJV, NLT). All rights reserved by the respective rights holders.

Your use of Lumina Daily is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the app, you consent to our data practices as described therein, including the use of cookies and advertising technologies.

Lumina Daily is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:

• The service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
• The results obtained from use of the service will be accurate or reliable.
• Any errors or defects will be corrected.

Lumina Daily is a spiritual resource tool and does not constitute professional religious, psychological, medical, or legal advice.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Lumina Daily and its officers, employees, and affiliates shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the service.

Our total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $10 USD, whichever is greater.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Lumina Daily and its affiliates from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any third-party rights.

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account and access to the service at any time, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms, engage in harmful or abusive behavior, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.

Upon termination, your right to use the service ceases immediately. Sections relating to intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.

If you are a California resident, you have specific rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and other California laws:

• Right to Know: You may request a list of the categories of personal information we collect, use, and share, and the purposes for doing so.
• Right to Delete: You may request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal exceptions (e.g., data needed to complete a transaction or comply with law).
• Right to Opt-Out: We do not sell your personal data. To opt out of interest-based advertising by Google AdSense, visit Google Ad Settings.
• Right to Non-Discrimination: Exercising your CCPA rights will not result in reduced service quality or pricing.
• Right to Correct: You may request correction of inaccurate personal information.
• Authorized Agent: You may designate an authorized agent to submit CCPA requests on your behalf by contacting us with written authorization.
• Shine the Light (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83): California residents may request information about disclosure of personal data to third parties for direct marketing. We do not share personal data for direct marketing purposes.
• Minor Users (Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code § 22581): If you are a California resident under 18 and have posted content publicly, you may request removal of that content by contacting us.

To exercise any California privacy rights, please contact us. We will respond within 45 days as required by the CCPA.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the applicable courts of the United States.

We may update these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the effective date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
