Content Standards
What every article must meet before publication
All content published on Lumina Daily must meet rigorous standards for biblical accuracy, theological integrity, and pastoral usefulness. These standards are enforced by our Editorial Team as part of our Editorial Policy.
Scripturally Grounded
All theological claims are grounded in specific Bible passages. We cite chapter and verse for every theological assertion. Where interpretive choices are made, we acknowledge that sincere Christians may hold different views and present those perspectives fairly.
Theologically Orthodox
We hold to the core doctrines of historic Christianity as articulated in the Apostles' Creed and Nicene Creed. Content that contradicts orthodox Christian theology is not published. See our Faith Statement for our full doctrinal position.
Factually Accurate
Historical, archaeological, and biographical claims about Bible figures, events, and settings are researched against established sources. We do not publish speculative historical claims as fact. See our Fact-Checking Process.
Pastorally Sensitive
We write with awareness that our readers are in many different seasons of life — including grief, crisis, doubt, and struggle. Our content is designed to encourage and equip, not condemn or shame. We avoid clichés that minimize real pain.
Original and Substantive
Every article published on Lumina Daily must be:
- Original: Written for Lumina Daily, not scraped, spun, or republished from other sources without attribution.
- Substantive: A minimum of 800–1,200 words where the topic warrants it, with a clear introduction, Scripture references, historical context, practical application, a prayer, reflection questions, and a conclusion.
- Well-structured: Organized with clear headings, readable paragraphs, and appropriate use of bullet points and blockquotes for Scripture.
- Purposeful: Each article must serve a clear reader need — answering a question, teaching a biblical concept, or providing pastoral guidance.
Scripture Citation Standards
All Scripture references must include the book name, chapter, and verse (e.g., John 3:16). The translation used must be identified. We follow the Bible Translation Policy for selecting appropriate translations for different contexts. Quotations must match the cited translation exactly — paraphrasing is not permitted when a specific translation is cited.
Review and Update Cycle
Content is not "publish and forget." Every article is reviewed periodically for accuracy, relevance, and currency. Outdated information is updated. Scripture references are re-verified. Articles that no longer meet our standards are revised or removed. We also respond to reader-reported issues — see our Corrections and Updates section.
Content We Do Not Publish
- Content that promotes false doctrine or teachings contrary to orthodox Christianity
- Content that misrepresents or mocks other Christian traditions
- Content that is primarily designed to manipulate search engines rather than serve readers
- Thin, auto-generated, or low-effort content that does not provide genuine value
- Content that uses Scripture out of context to support claims the original text does not support
